The walk into Atapuerca was very emotional for me. It was so scenic because it’s like this small town, that seems to be nestled in the middle of a valley. It quite green around it, not super green but more lush than wheat fields. The town felt like a little safe haven, especially because I was tired. It was like this huge relief was coming.
